Pretty sure a push kick to face is valid (just like a drop kick no?), but I'm not a ref!

Foot techniques: Any striking techniques using the part of the foot below the ankle bone are legal, whereas any others using the part of the leg above the ankle bone, i.e. part of the shin or knee, etc. are not permitted.

question:

Is a push kick to the face a valid kick and whether points should be given?
I am given two different answer and would like to seek more opinion and comments regarding that rule

It would be very interesting to monitor the referees decision reaction time in competition. The new 1-2-3 scoring rules doesn't seem to simplify the decision process that was so problematic in the past.
As usual, the answer is the opposite of simplification.
Just as a reminder: the more complicated a sport is to be understood and judged, the less it will be appealing to the mass and the press.
